About CSSI

Why CSSI?

The Central Skin Sciences Institute (CSSI) combines skin health research with reliable, innovative testing methods and expert clinical knowledge to provide you with the best support during our clinical investigations. We want to improve the quality of life for people living with skin conditions or medical devices worn on the body by conducting research that will help us develop new adhesive technology.

The Institute

Our in-house facility is purpose built with state-of-the-art reception, clinical nurse and skin testing rooms. The institute is also temperature and humidity controlled, providing the ideal environment for skin analysis. We are centrally located in the UK, close to Birmingham city centre, and easily accessible by road and public transport.

We want to make your experience as effortless as possible, which is why we provide onsite parking with disability bays and electrical charging points.

Committed to good clinical practice

Some research studies may need to be approved by regulatory authorities and research ethics committees before they can recruit participants. This is to ensure that the study is safe and people who take part are protected and monitored. At the CSSI, all our studies are in line with the ISO 14155 and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standard for clinical studies.
